In order to become the best and most effective teacher I firmly believe that you have to reflect on your past practices and lessons. Reflecting and thinking through things that you could have improved on and things that you thought worked well during your lesson helps you make quicker decisions during your future teaching to best suit your students. I have learned a lot by doing this process after every lesson that I have taught over the years being at Westminster. I also have taken in advice and constructive criticism from my mentors, professors, and supervisors. I am always open for feedback because it helps me see biases throughout my teaching that I would otherwise not see.
To the right I have attached two of my reflections on lessons that I have taught in specific methods placements. |
I was also able to obtain a past evaluation from a professor that observed me while teaching a second grade reading and language arts lesson. In reading my professor's evaluation of me I was able to understand strength's in my teaching and places that I could improve or do things differently.
I also obtained my final evaluation from my Student Teaching Placement. |
